Bunded Fuel and Chemical Storage Depot
In a large gold mining operation, this setup serves as a specialized station for Hazardous Liquid Containment, Fuel Dispensing, and Reagent Management:
Spill and Leak Prevention: Gold processing relies on volatile or toxic liquid reagents and large volumes of fuel. The concrete bund wall acts as a secondary containment basin. If a tank ruptures or a drum leaks, the hazard symbol-labeled chemicals are entirely trapped inside the concrete barrier, protecting the surrounding environment and ground water from contamination.
Fuel and Solvent Supply: These horizontal tanks commonly hold the baseline diesel or heavy fuel oil needed to feed site generators and light machinery fleets, or bulk processing acids used in the elution and carbon regeneration circuits.
Chemical Staging: The blue drums house specialized reagents (such as liquid flocculants, frothers, or specialized surface-active chemicals) staged neatly for daily dosing into the extraction plant.
